Celebrating the return of Thatcher the Eagle!
I have been on a little bit of a hiatus, touring the beautiful landscapes and such. The students have noticed my absence and brought it to the powers that be. And so, I'm back. Better than ever.
Here's what I am bringing back with me... a challenge. The challenge is for classrooms to use their 100 charts to collect recognitions for expected classroom behavior and following the codes. When those 100 charts are filled, they are brought to the office where they are traded for a feather. These feathers are valuable. 3 classroom feathers will earn the class a mini-me, Thatcher the Eagle for the classroom mascot delivered by yours truly. 5 feathers will earn the class time in the Maker Space on Friday June 9, 2017.
The students are jazzed and teachers are prepared with fly-bys in hand. We are going to "catch" the kids following the codes. What a positive way to end the year!

Ms. Crickard-Thompson shared her NEST activity this week:
Who am I . . .
I come from above,
I start out as rain
When I hit the cold I change.
I have six points so bright
I sparkle in the moonlight.
I shimmer in the sun
Kids can't wait to have fun.
When they awake
They see me.
I'm a SNOWFLAKE!
Looks like fun. Thanks for sharing!

Happy New Year!
I have this feeling that 2017 is going to be amazing!
We launched a new booster today to celebrate the new year. As a school, we will be focusing on hallway and common area behavior for the next two months. Students will be earning fly-bys and other recognition for walking, keeping hands by sides, and using quiet voices. (Those are the Thatcher 3 for the hallway).
Also to celebrate our continued support of our friends at Kaplan Elementary School, we will be wearing black and/or gold on Fridays for the next 8 weeks.
Our friends are also on board with the booster focus:

All my friends are busy migrating south. I traded in warmer days a long time ago to spend time in my favorite place year round.
So since last I wrote, quite a bit has happened:
- We earned an Imagination Playground celebration because we have earned so many recognitions, flybys and dollars for our sister school.
- We talked a lot about being grateful as we headed into the Thansgiving Holiday. Thank you to Ms. Monley for the amazing opportunity to think, reflect, and create.
- NEST groups are up and running. They are a great way to connect with each other.
- And then we had the annual River of Light lantern parade. It was beautiful as always. I love having the bird's eye view.
